My aunt just got a PC for my little cousin's room who just learned how to read and now my cousin is on the internet when she wants to...just wondering if this is good or she is too young.

I would say no.
My own children's access is either supervised or they go through my squid proxy to filter access.

I would install Ubuntu Linux on it with dansgaurdian setup.

If it has to be windows then some filtering should be setup.

Six year olds should not have unlimited access to the Internet. I can understand someone wanting their child to have access for learning purposes, reading, language and other youth based things.

A child should not have a computer in their room, it is too easy to get onto sites that are not appropriate or for pedophiles to access the computer, and thus her. This could be an extremely dangerous situation.

The computer should be in a parent supervisable area in order for no problems to occur.

That is entirley too young to have free-roam of the world. Because that basically what it is, the world, complete with Sex Offenders and all. You should tell your aunt the dangers of someone of that age and vaunerablity using the internet freeley.

No way should they have unlimited access..... Kids that age are too curious and who knows what kind of stuff they can stumble into, much less actually find on their own!

If the six-year-old is sufficiently mature to be trusted on her own in Times Square, then I would say sure, no problem. Otherwise, some safeguards and parental supervision would be in order.

Is that supposed to be a rhetorical question? Should a child molester have access to unlimited children?
