Jerry P and Kemchan2 are absolutely correct. The real question (one of them) is how bright is the object?

The other real question is how much detail can the eye resolve? It turns out that the average person cannot 'see' anything that subtends less than about 1 minute (1/60 degree) of arc. (About 1 inch at 100 yards)

well, on a clear night I can see the Andromeda galaxy which is 2 million light years away

Unaided by a telescope, Andromeda galaxy is about it: 2.5 million light-years.
