Honestly, it just takes time to adjust. If you want to be in bed at 9, then go to bed at 9. Turn the lights off and lay in bed (no TV!).
You will roll around for a while, but if you just keep your eyes closed, you will fall asleep. Over the course of 3 weeks or so, your sleep schedule will shift itself.
Avoid caffeine after 3 or 4 and you will not roll around so long.

Read a book. Drink some warm caffein free tea. Take a bath and relax. Go lay in bed and watch movie that you've seen a million times. That's what works for me. All these people are telling you not to watch tv. Dr's say it's not good, but I HAVE to have it on to fall asleep. My mind wont stop. If I lay there in the dark, I wont sleep a wink. I need to occupy my brain with something other than my thoughts. If you are like that, then TV is good. Insomnia runs in my family, and that's the only thing- other than crazy addictive prescriptions, that works for us.

Take a hot bath and read a book. Have some chamomile tea or a turkey sandwich and a glass of milk. The turkey and the milk contain tryptophan, which induces sleep.

get up earlier first. Get up an hour earlier every morning for a week, then start going to bed 15 minutes earlier, then 1/2 hour earlier - ease your way into it.

turn off all the lights including the tv and computer except for one dim light. Block out as much outside light as you can. Decreasing darkness tells your brain it's time to sleep.
