I remember back in 81 when I had two small babies and all we had was beans and potatoes, and NO maoney for ANYTHING. Now things aren't that great and yes there has been times when 2 hotdogs for $1.00 was all I had. It breaks my heart to see people hungry and it makes no difference to me how they got that way. We don't waste food in my house and we sure don't take it for granted. Yea I still feel guilty, though I do all I know to help.

Yes, millions of people would not starve to death if they just had half of the food that is wasted everyday. Also, like the first poster mentioned, I dislike wasting food that was killed for me. Additionally, from a productivity point of view, the unconscious waste of food interferes with a more effective use of the goods. Unfortunately in America there is an extremely high rate of waste (especially food) and not everybody is conscious about that.

Even though the feeling is largely illogical, I admit that yes, I often feel guilty.
However, I am now convinced that efforts to prop up corrupt governments that are responsible for their populace starving does no lasting good. Maybe you keep some people from dying, but then they grow to maturity and produce another generation that will face starvation.

each and each and every time I bypass food and throw my food away I continually experience undesirable. i trust undesirable taking under consideration each and each and every of the ravenous people in the international who do not opt for to starve and would gladly take my food. I also experience undesirable about my mom and father figuring out to purchase the food and then I even ought to organize dinner it and practice it to seem as if i'm ingesting it yet i'm fairly basically dropping it. I actually have a very responsible moral experience.

Nope - There comes a point in time in life when a nation has to learn to stand on its own 2 feet and learn how to produce food. This country as been giving away billions of dollars in food and money and the starving nations still have not learned what a rake, shovel and seed can do for them.

Yes. There are people starving the world over. They don't get food due to political strife, war and other things.

Bert ... Yes, this is the way I was taught. Furthermore, my family wasn't exactly rich. Consequently, food is not wasted in my household ... and my waist line is showing the effects of this policy, unfortunately.

God YES. When my wife and I first got married she cooked like she was cooking for a football team. It took me several years to get her to cook just enough to feed us. Now, with three growing boys, there's rarely anything left, but to answer your question, YES I feel guilty anytime there is food wasted.
Good question. I hope it makes people think.
