Garlic smell strong and gets its smell in the blood. Oignons does too. People hate the smell so it is a protection against unwanted people who does not eat garlic. If you eat garlic you won't smell it on another person.
It is said that blood drinkers hate the smell of garlic in the blood.
Health: if you have warts on your hands or body, rub a cut piece of garlic on the wart, once everyday for a couple of weeks. The wart will be poisoned, it will dry up, and the roots will die too. It will leave no scar. Garlic is anti-cancer.

Garlic can protect you from many low level beings. It is also good for your heart. If you wear a garlic clove on a pendant it will give you the needed protection but it may also lower your friendship to some regular people. Some people use garlic as seasoning with certain foods.

I'm evil...my name is Sin Incarnate...and I love garlic. This disproves any theory that garlic may have protective powers at all. I eat as much as I can of the stuff...keeps the mosquitoes away as well.

Garlic does not have protective powers, as in keeping away vampires. It does however have many medicinal powers that can help keep your body and blood in good order and so help keep you in good health.

I allways get a sour throat if I eat anything containing garlic.
You cannot catch a cold if you eat a whole garlic at once in the morning. Even in the tube you will be all alone!

The vampire myth is deeply rooted in sexuality. The vampire was a metaphor for a sexual predator.
Garlic is protective because, well, it makes your breath stink. Not sexy. Less 'vampires' wanting to nibble on your delicate little neck.

I am actually suprised that nobody mentioned the fact that Garlic is an anti-coagulant, as in it thins the blood, as well as all the other stuff. I mean, if you were a vampire, would you want thin blood?

Garlic is used to ward of wolves since the smell is so sharp it actually HURTS them with their keen olfactory senses. Therefore, garlic is used to ward of werewolves and vampires (who turn into wolves as often as they do bats and other such night creatures).
