Yes, wash your face, cover it with foundation, don't touch it. I have to do this with my eyebrows all the time. The stuff they put on the area they waxed never really did anything for me but make me look like a grease ball.

Why not try some Visine? I've used that before on other areas of skin that are red-- for instance a pimple or other sore on the face can be less red if you rub some of the eye drops onto the sore spot.
And washing an area that is already red is probably not a good idea. Wash your face, but try to avoid the red areas.

You can wash your face but do it with cold water. You can hold a cold wash cloth on the reddness for a minute take it off for a couple minutes and see if the red is gone if not, repeat. Good luck.

first wash it with cold water then you put some Aveeno cooling creme it cools it down and its also soothing.
