From the perspective of an Elder (who is finally an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree) ... Life is short because ... well ... would you want to live forever? (I sure don't -- that is for the future generations to deal with ... and as we age, our bodies slow down ... )

The work week, ... well ... after my FIRST retirement (from Active Military Service) -- I could not believe how FAST the years went by -- it was all based on the perspective of increasing age ... when I was 20 -- years and work weeks seemed to last forever ... then when I was in my 40s+ -- Wow -- things went by so fast, the years passed so quickly, the children went from babies to toddlers to Graduating High School in the blink of an eye .. and I mean it!

So now .. the weeks just seem to fly by.

By the time you can afford to stop work, you don't have enough years to enjoy it
