That's a good question.

The problem is, a nation like our can't just decide to be "peaceful", because the wackos will try a 9/11 mission here every day.

If we teach the rest of the world peace, it will follow in our nation.

as long as people have the freedom to be violent, violence will always happen. I don't say this to invoke that we should remove our freedom and all live in cells, but I think that violence will always take place.

I know that it's cliche to ask a question here (since I am answering one) but what would happen if what the Gaza strip is like spread throughout the world. Is a Gaza-esque world in our future??

I think that hasher penalties and more work on rehabilitation is the key to help prevent more violent acts and widerspread violence.

It will never be reversed. There are just too many people in the world that have so many different viewpoints that it would be impossible for us all to get along. Its a shame not everyone thinks like you, for it might be possible then.

We live in a unperfect world. Even if you found 'the right steps' it would never work. There's always going to be violence in the world, that's a part of life, wether you like it or not, there are no miracle steps to get rid of it.

They have to die before. The reason for us here is a competition. Only the strong ones can have children. Anyone else fails to exist.
So violence is part of the game. If you kill your neighbour, he cannot interfere any longer. Cruel, of course, but true.

Eliminate race, religion, and an individual's ability to have violent thoughts and I think you might create a non-violent world.
