I work in a video store and I would have to recommend "Zoom", "Cars", "Akeela and the Bee", "Cars", "Ant Bully", "Barnyard", "Curious George", "How to Eat Fried Worms", "Hoot", "Invincible", "One Night With the King", "Just My Luck", "RV", "Superman Returns" and "X3". These are movies that have come out within the past six months (I'm trying to visualize what's all on my New Release wall).
Also, I highly recommend "Flags of our Fathers" (lots of blood and language) and "Flyboys". They are both phenomenal movies, but they are both war movies and you need to take that into consideration before letting any children watch them.
As for "Little Miss Sunshine", it is definitely NOT for children. In a nutshell . . . Alan Arkin plays a coke snorting, porn loving grandpa that teaches his granddaughter to dance to "Super Freak" by Rick James for her Little Miss Sunshine pageant. It is a very funny movie, just not for children.
Good luck!

Depending on your kids ages, I would recommend Flags of Our Fathers. Amazing film, but may not be good for real young kids. Also, check out Little Miss Sunshine (some drug use).
For the younger audience, Open Season is pretty cute.
Also, if you've never seen it before, I would thoroughly recommend Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. It is about a year old, but it is so funny, for both kids and adults.

Please don't let kids watch little miss sunshine it has extremly foul language.
I would recomend Open season, Barn yard, Ice age 2, Shrek 2 All of these are decent for kids and adults can enjoy them too.
