He is nothing more than a batting practice caliber pitcher. He hasn't had any stuff for a long time.

No longer a number 1 starter but Mike hampton will have between 12 and 16 wins. He is one of the better hitting pitchers in the game who always helps himself when he pitches. His hitting forces teams to pitch the entire lineup different than if another opposing pitcher was getting at-bats

Anyone who says they know for sure is fooling themselves. On the negative side: he hasn't pitched in the bigs for almost 2 years, he was struggling the season he went down. On the positive: the year before his injury was maybe the best of his career, many pitchers, ie. smoltz, come back stronger after this surgery due to the training and rest they get during the time off, he's in great shape and he's really not that old. My forecast for him is 4 era, 14-16 wins, and I think that might just be good enough to get him comeback player of the year.

He may have a few decent starts but he is at the point where he is not durable enough to count on as a top performer any longer. really he only had two maybe three decent seasons.
