I hardly get pimples, but when i do i use St. Ives Acne Scrub in Medicated. It is the best acne scrub i have ever used! Gets rid of pimples in a day or two and actually works much, much better than proactive! The best part is, its sold for only $3-$4 at Wal-Mart or Target.

I know many people are using proactiv but I am one of those people who used it and absolutely HATED IT. The one thing that botheres me the most about it is that it dried my skin like crazy! I would have like pealing on my forehead because of it... So don't try it if you have sensitive skin... Also, it didn't even work on my acne or blackheads... I did use it for about 2 months and I gave it a try 2 or 3 times and still nothing.... Also, because of the dryness, skin was itchy...
I switched to the Tea Tree Oil line from the Body Shop. It does wonders and might come out cheaper (depends what you want to use, but be sure to get the mask... it tightens your skin really good and gets rid of balckheads).
Of course nothing happens over night, you need to commit to a product. But the Tea Tree is all natural and would never do you harm so you can't go wrong with it. In my opinion natural is the best way to go... proactiv and such.. you'll have to commit to them for life... it won't heal the problem only pause it. You need something that will heal the acne so you won't be obligated to worry about your skin your whole life.
Good Luck!

Nu Skin has a product that will help prevent and clear up existing breakouts and will not dry your skin out at all. It is very effective on blackheads, red skin, and there aren’t any shiny effects.
My advice...Stop the breakouts and use something that is actually good for your skin. I have been using Nu Skin Clear Action® and it doesn't compare to any other. My skin chemistry changes all of the time and I still never have a problem.
Here's the site check it out. They also have foundations that complement your skin.

I use Acne Free and it has worked GREAT! I have literally tried everything there is, and so far Acne Free is all that has worked. It doesn't contain any salycilic acid (I don't think?). The active ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide. It's also a lot cheaper than ProActiv.

Find a good all natural exfoliator for the blackheads and don't pick at them....
In general, my advice for ance is.
You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.

It is important to use skin friendly products and not pinch the pustules so that there are no scars formed. A good soap like Neutrogena or Cetaphil is recommended. Mild oil free skin creams should only be used . This link should provide more remedies.

well proactive is very strong and it's for people with really bad acne, and I use everything clean&clear b/c it's perfect and if you don't have too much acne I would suggest using clean&clear.
