I think in high school that as long as you play a semi-safe position then it's ok for a girl to play on a team. Unfortunatly when you put the girl into the line up you not only run into her possibly getting hurt, or being treated differently than the others, but you also run into a confidence issue with your teammates. You wouldn't want to do anything to undermine the confidence of the team...but if you are serious about playing for your high school then i would check the school by-laws and the athletic by laws of your division and see if there are any rules about girls not being able to play then go talk to the coach and see what he says if he says no and there's nothing allowing him to say no other than his opinion then that's descrimination.

It's great if a girl is good enough. Get's a bit old that it's usually at punter or kicker but still. The problem is; if girls are allowed a guys team, shouldn't guys be allowed on a girls team if there's not a comparable sports offered, i.e. volleyball, field hockey. Many female sports are "created" to make up for the diparity that football creates. What about that one kid who's spot is being taken so we can make a statement by letting a girl play. equality is good, but that's not equality.

Some girls don't like playing (girlie) sports so they want to play football. At a junior high/ high school level I think it's alright but I don't think that playing at a college level would be all that great for the sport of football

I think it's great. We had a High School team here in central TEXAS a few years ago that had a female punter and, they did okay. on the college and, pro levels, You would have to have enough females get interested in it. I don't think it would be a good idea to put females head to head with males in the NFL but, maybe the NFL, could start a female league like, the WNBA but, then, again, You would have to find enough females who, were interested.

Look i don't think girls should play but its not because they are to fragile or soft or whatever, i just flat out think its obvious that there is a major difference of talent between men and women. On the other hand if a girl can play a position better than any guy that plays it on the team they should be given a shot. but there aren't very many instances of that

If anyone has the ability and the durability to play football, by all means go for it.

Have you ever watched kickers practice? It seems rather boring, they stand off on the side doing their own thing without the rest of the team except during special teams practice (which is brief in duration compared to Offense/Defense)

well, if you want 53 sweaty, testosterone driven young men staring at you while you change or something then go right ahead personally I have no problem with Girls playing football at any level as long as they can handle the physical stress. This is coming from an High School TE/OLB/DE

JH and HS, fine, I'm not stopping ya, College and NFL --INCREDIBLLY unsafe. Guys are just too big then and they hit too hard. Women are not biologically that big (even if they were to use ALOT of steroids like female body builders do ---they wouldn't come close). Priest Holmes is 213lbs and Shawne Merriman's hit in 05 basically ended his career. Think what that would have done to a woman!

If they are good y not let them play. There is no rule in the books that said that guys are the only ones allowed to play football. There are alot of girls that play. I know one that is a kicker in college.
