If boat has a front and a back, etc., you are probably looking at hollowed out log a few thousand B.C.
If boat is a frame made of saplings (small trees and branches) covered over with hides, probably 6-7,000 BC after some observed that a hide bag for wine or lung, etc. inflated with air would assist in getting across a lake or stream and scaled up the idea. See bull boat, hide boat, coracle (source)
