Right now I am reading the second series and it is really good. If a lot of people enjoyed th first I was going to read it. I would have to buy them because our library does not own the books. Does anyone know when the fifth bookis coming out?

The first series tells the story of how a pet cat joins the clan of wild cats and everything he has to do to prove himself. It is a story of belonging, treachery, ambition, loyalty, and honor. I really enjoyed getting to visit the world of these wild cats through this series. I would recommend it.
By the way, sometimes if you ask a public library to order a particular book or series, they will. Or sometimes they can use interlibrary loan to get the books from another library that has them. So maybe you wouldn't have to buy them yourself. Just ask any librarian - they'll be happy to help.

I think the first series was better than the second, since I lost interest in Erin Hunter's writing after I read Moonrise.
As you probably know, the first series is about Firestar and his struggles to overcome the stereotype of "kittypet". If you liked the New Prophecy, I think you will like it's prequals.
