Im 18 and i was considering using birth control. Now im not sexually active, but i was going to use birth control because i am anemic and my perids are very painful. Is birth control something safe to use, I dont know anyone who uses it, and what are some of the side affects? thanks.

they are pretty safe. they say they can cause some nasuea, but i have never experienced that. i've never experienced any side effects from them except for a little bit of weight gain (like a pound or two thats all). and when u first begin them, while ur body is getting used to them you may have some spotting in between the period cycle. otherwise, they are a good solution if you are having bad periods.

Using birth control pills before 1ST pregnancy, may affect your fertility, its better to ask your gynecologist about it, giving u something else for the irregularity of your period.
