I took the infamous Neman-Marus recipe from the net and made changes. People liked them so much I left a full tin out at nights on the verandah and I would find it empty in the morning with a pile of quarters beside it. That is how I bought my first computer in 1816.

The recipe makes TONS of cookies. You can halve it safely.

2 c butter
4 c white flour
2 tsp soda
2 c white sugar (or use brown instead)
5 c blended oatmeal. This determines consistency of cookie.
24 oz choc chips or chunks. Be generous. Try multiple chocs.
2 c brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 8 oz Hershey bar, grated (or Skor/butterscotch chips)
4 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
3 c chopped nuts (roasted almond slices or peanuts, whatever)
2 tsp vanilla

Measure oatmeal and blend to fine powder in blender. This is where you decide how smooth you want the cookies to be.

Cream the butter and add sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and soda.
Add chocolate chips. hershey bar and nuts.
Roll into balls and place 5 cm apart on baking sheet.
Bake for 10 min at 190 degrees Celsius.

I often got rid of old granola or left over trail mixes in these cookies. Make them a few times according to the recipe and then experiment. It is amazing what you can do with these cookies. You can dress them up or down depending on the "audience". I never had enough of them in the house !

Have you made this recipe yet? LOL
