I don't think so. Ringo did leave the Beatles at one time, but I'm not sure of the reasons. I do know, though, that Ringo did sing The Little Drummer Boy on his Christmas CD after the Beatles breakup.

I have never heard this.

What led to the demise of the Beatles was Paul's decision to leave, although John claimed he had been kicking around the same idea for some time.

I suspect this apocryphal story arose from the fact that, toward the end of the group, Paul wanted to do the drums himself on one of the tracks they were recording. Ringo got angry and walked out. Later Paul apologized and covered Ringo's drum set with flowers by way of apology.
