Not easily. Most 2wd pickups are rear drive, which means replacing the engine to get a drive system in the front compartment which may require cutting sheet metal to get it in. If you happen to have a front drive pickup, you may or may not have the space to put in the front-rear differential to get power to the back and there may not be space under the floor for the driveshaft.

yes you can, but it will be a involved process to do.particularly if you want to convert a late model truck to 4x4. you may have to change your transmission to one that will accept a transfer case. also front axle will be needed that has the suspension, and driveline including the differential. you will also need any electrical/linkages etc necessary to complete the project.in short its simply far easier and affordable to purchase a truck that is already a 4 wheel drive. if your looking for a truck to use mainly for off roading purposes, check into the local auctions for the military's cucv trucks. they are one ton+ rated trucks, with a strong driveline, strong axles ( 8 lug ) diesel engine 6.2 v-8,and lockers in both differentials.

It is theoretically possible to do, but it will cost you more to convert a 2wd than it would be for you to buy a 4WD in the first place.
