I bought an iPod, refurbished, off the internet. It came, but no instructions included, and this is my first iPod. It's fully charged, and it's a video iPod, 60 GB. I've plugged it up to my computer. How long do I wait until the "Do not Disconnect" sign goes away, or is that even supposed to be there?

Do you have iTunes yet? If not, go to Apple's website and download it (it is free of charge) and then install it. After that, connect your iPod and it should allow you to import the songs that you import to iTunes. You can also get instructions from Apple's website if needed.

The do not disconnect light is kinda weird. When I got my iPod, I waited like 72 hours because it said do not disconnect. However, when I searched for the answer, you could change the settings from upload music automatically or manually. It turns out that the light goes on for uploading automatically, so that you don't unplug it while it is working, however, it is probably set on upload manually so you don't have to wait; just click and drag music onto the iPod and disconnect when you're done, regardless of what the screen says. In other words, don't pay attention to that light, and just upload your music!!

Hope this helped!!!

I got an Ipod off the internet too. No, you should be able to disconnect it in a few hours. My sign never goes away when it's charging.. I just charge it when Im not using it, like overnight... It's good all day.. Good luck...

You wait for a little bit and it goes away. That's just the computer's way of reading your iPod and loading it. You can down load songs, i like Limewire, or you can download songs anywhere else. Good luck!
