Black or White ?.
White shows up scratches more, as dirt gets into the mark and shows up as small grey lines. The white used in the plastic extrusion, also is effected by UV light and over time will turn slightly yellow.
Black doesn't show up scratches in the same way, although the black plastic is slightly softer and so will actually scratch more. (As both faces are covered mostly in clear acrylic it is not a major issue)
Black was the choice of the vast majority of new purchases over Christmas. Most of the shops in my area sold out of black well before, but had lots of white ones for sale even after the event!

I own a Black 30gig Video V5.5 and my wife has an 8gig Nano V2 in Black.

For us it was a case of "Out with the old, in with the new"

Black is easier to play with on a bus or train without attracting the wrong type of attention. I would also change the white earphones for aftermarket black or silver, as its something that pick pockets and muggers look out for.

Remember, when Henry Ford started making cars they where only available in black. These days the colour choices are vast and its up to the purchaser to decide for themselves. No one ever says "Only black ones are true Ford's!" so why would this be true of an MP3 player?

Black is very cool and it doesn't show wear and tear like white one does. Also, the screen contrasts much better with a black frame around it rather than the white frame.

Hmm.. I would go with black since it wouldnt be that noticeable when it's dirty. But if u dont care about that.. then go for white one. Nice and simple! =)

White. The screen looks better, and you can't see as many smudges, so it looks slightly cleaner.

You can always get a skin though.
