Personally, I have friend I have had for several years-she is married, I am not. I just call her on her birthday and wish her a happy birthday. Sometimes I sing the happy birthday song-yes, on her voice mail. Just knowing that you remembered her birthday-should be good. An idea-if you can talk with her husband, and arrange a surprise birthday party for her-maybe for tomorrow night--that might work.
