I want to look taller, so I've been dieting specially, etc. but I think I could get a quick boost conceptially if I wre clothes that give the illusion of stretching the body out. I noticed baggy jeans sort of do this.

Well, I know to look shorter, you were longer shirts, to create the illusion of shorter legs. Thats what I do, because I don't want to be taller. So I would think, to look taller, you do the opposite, and wear less lengthy shirts.

You can make your self look doing by doing a few different things.

The first trick is to wear the same colour top and bottom. This draws the eye down the figure as a whole and makes you appear a lot taller. Try it.

Another thing is to wear stripes that go downwards. Pinstripe trousers are good for this they will also make your legs appear slimmer.

Another tip is to wear bootcut pants/jeans that are slightly too long and wear them with a heel so that the pants go over the shoe this will make your legs look alot longer.

As a rule fitted clothes tend to make you look taller than baggy clothes as they make the body appear more streamline therefore giving the illusion of being taller.

Hairstyles can make you look taller. Have you seen how some celebs have quite puffed up full of volume hair - this is too add a few extra inches!

This is the best trick ever:
Buy a pair of long jeans.... They need to be about 4 inches longer than your regular inseam. Gap offers a longer length option on all of their jeans. Most designer jeans (like seven for all mankind) have longer inseams.

Then, wear the jeans with a pair of 4 inch wedge heels.
The jeans should cover your shoes and almost skim the floor by your heel. Because all you see is the front of your shoe peeking out, and because you're wearing wedges (rather than pumps) they don't "read" as heels. This gives the illusion that you're legs are much longer than they actually are, and in a sense you actually gain 4 more inches of "leg." This trick works best with bootcut jeans or flares---not really skinny jeans since the skinny bottom wouldn't cover up the shoe as well---and covering the heel is the key to making you appear taller than you are.

black.
Stripes.
Heels.
And form fitting. Not baggy. They make you look short and fatter than you are. Get a pair of pants that are straight legged or boot cut. No flairs, they'll enhance your hips and narrow your legs. Also, no cuffs to your pants. they also shorten your legs. Jackets that end at your hip. They will elong out your legs.

Go out and purchase yourself some new tops with stripes running up and down. Strips always make you taller.

Pin stripes make you look taller and thinner. Stay away from jackets that fall between you lower hip and mid thigh, they will make you look much shorter.

Monochromatic colours, longer jackets, don't wear hipster jeans, but rather a higher rise... just a few examples. Don't go with all black, however.
