women and girls are not getting pregnant all by themselves!!!
When a woman is in a loving relationship she doesn't think of abortion unless it's a matter of a health issue!

Men and teenage boys talk a good game and then when the pregnancy becomes an issue many of them walk away from responsibility!!!

When a teenage boy is sexually active he is a stud and others perpetuate that myth!!!
Yes I agree that women are also responsible but if you really think about it men and teenage boys apply quite alot of pressure.
How many times Do you hear..."If you love me you would..."
or
"I promise I love you..."
or
"Don't worry you won't get pregnant"
There's alot of mixed messages we send our kids and things need to change.
But seriously believe me there is no woman or girl who hopes to get pregnant to have an abortion!!!

I hardly think virtue and sex have anything to do with each other-
but you are right.
if a male is against abortion he should ensure he doesn't impregnate anyone.
if a female is against abotion she should not have one.
and if a group is against abortion they should help poor pregnant women who would otherwise abort, fight to give pregnant women rights at work and at school (so they don't think they must have an abortion to keep their success), and give out some controceptives.

You're right that women in loving relationships really are *highly* unlikely to see the need for an abortion. But it *does* take two to tango. As for men having *all* the responsibility....
Hee hee snicker snort. Yeah. Walk around for four months in one of those strap-on pregnancy suits and see if you think the same thing. In the ultimate world, a woman would not get an abortion w/o the father's strong feedback. But in the world we live in, men usually help pay for it, unless they're long gone.

Eh, it's not about virtue or "spreading your legs". But it is true that between men and women there are power issues connected to gender. But let's not go around blaming eachother. That's not going to work. (but sl*t-shaming is a well known hobby of anti-abortion people)
Actually, the best way to reduce abortions is to legalise it, and to provide good, comprehensive sex education and access to contraception. Look at the laws and sex education of different countries and you'll find this to be true.
Abstinence doesn't work. Thousands of years of human nature shows this.
Unfortunately religious and political ideology takes priority over facts and practicality.

The stats of the Center for Disease Control dosen't support your theory. About 55% of the women who have abortions are white, college educated, over 25 years of age, and have an income in excess of $36,000 per year. These figures are available on the CDC's website.
These figures seem to indicate that most women who choose abortion are upwardly mobile, career women whose goal in life doesn't include children.

Men receive all of the responsibility and none of the rights from what I've seen. Men have no say as to whether their own child will live or die prior to their birth.
I am pro-choice myself. I agree that a woman has the right to choose whether or not get pregnant.
edit: Many today jump in bed with someone far more often than they jump into a "loving relationship". Do you agree?

Yes it is fair to say that, but it is also fair to say if the women would quit spreading her legs the seed could not be delivered. You are absolutely right that both need to take personal responsibility.

What would be fair is if the woman learned how to say "no" and mean it, keep her ankles crossed or at least use birth control......Sorry chickie, a woman is responsible for her own body.....not some rutting male who will say anything, tell you anything to get in your little knickers.

I think you're oversimplifying a complex problem and completely ignoring the woman's part in this.
With the exception of rape, it takes TWO to tango, skippy. Laying the blame on men for "taking women's virtue" is a cop-out. If a woman truly wants to keep her "virtue," all she has to do is keep her legs closed.
"Personal responsibility" goes both ways.

I would say that a woman who allows her virture to be taken is wholly complicit.
Here's a thought. If you're so concerned over your virtue, find different men to date.

If women didn't allow men to have unprotected sex with them or the took the pill there would be no need to worry about women's virtue or abortion. If there isn't any soil to plant a seed their won't be any plants.
