I read inbill brysons "notes from the big country" that fathers who organise teams say how the best kid have to be in for longer and the lesser players shouldn't play for as long, and someone said that it would be fairer to have everyone play for equal time, and the fathers said well then they wouldn't win... why does it matter when they're under 10.

1. Sports are fun.
2. Allows the kids, if good enough, to get a free GREAT education.
3. IF even better, you can make a career, have to start young.

I love sports, i play sports for my school, wouldn't hve it any other way.

You have to teach them both sharing, and about being fair. If one kid is better and works harder, they deserve to play more. But the kids that aren't as good should still play a reasonable amount. You don't want kids to think no matter what, they will get the same in life. But you also don't want to discourage kids from trying.

Also, in the US we also take periods very seriously. Try using a couple next time.

Its a way to keep kids activate and out of trouble. And America is the fattest country.

a very very competitive society, parents living their kids' lives for them. and it matters on some level because no one plays sports to lose.
