This is my 3rd cycle of Yaz. The first month I had a 2 day light period, then last month I had three days of breakthrough and then bled for all 4 of the "inactive" pills. Now I'm on day 2 of inactive pills and...nothing yet. Is this common?

I'm now taking Yaz and I have not had a bit of trouble. But when I was reading up on the medication according to manufacture this is common. If it doesn't straighten up by the 4 month I would call your doctor. Remember, when your on bc you may not always have a period due to there not being enough lining to slough off and this is perfectly normal.

I did Yaz for 6 months in part of 2006 but b/c of the way I was supposed to take it to try and treat one of my other medical conditions I shouldn't have had a period at all. Toward the end of that 6 months I ended up having a lot of problems with breakthrough bleeding. I later had to go on a different brand of birth control pill and have had better success with it.

When I had to break for a period I didn't take the inactive pills at all but did notice that sometimes my period didn't come til after I had been off the pill for about 3 days. As for whether or not it's common I think that the answer is that it's different for each person but check with your dr to make sure.

I've been taking yaz for 3 years with no problem until about four months ago. I kept starting my period almost 2 weeks early and continuing thru the inactive pills. They switched me to yaz with higher estrogen and still no help. I'm gonna see if I can get a different bc.
