Its seems at ties that no one can question the ideology of the far left without some negitive response. Is there now no room espressing opions. I know Stalin had a problem with this. Is this where it is headed?

I am willing to discuss political topics with people. However, I probably have a lot different viewpoint on things.

For example, given that President Bush misrepresented the threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction from Iraq. So we had to go to war. There were no WMD's, and so the whole basis of the invasion was unjustified. Now, in making war plans, you can't just have rumours, or strong beliefs: You need to have cold, inarguable facts. He didn't.

So, I am left with the judgement that Bush is reckless. More evidence has come out that states that it was planned early on for this war. So to me, everything that this Administration is a coldly calculated lie, to serve polical interests.

And if someone is willing to falsify and misrepresent information to have a war, what wouldn't they do? Funding for this or that pales before the import of a trillion dollars, and thousands of lives.

What I'm saying in this rant, is this is my starting point. From the phrasing of your question, I would guess that you disagree. We start with far different points of view, and I believe that my conclusions are well supported by the evidence. These topics are very important to their holder and we must be willing to confront our assumptions of bias.

I'm a liberal, and think that liberal ideas have a lot of applicability to problems in our world. I concede that they do not work in every situation.

We're not.

It's not disagreement that's at issue... disagreement is fine. However, when people start saying things like "liberals are terrorist sympathizers" or things like that, expect a reaction...

edit: "Its seems at ties that no one can question the ideology of the far left without some negitive response. Is there now no room espressing opions. I know Stalin had a problem with this. Is this where it is headed?"

Alright, this is a perfect example of why things go in the wrong direction. Comparing modern day American liberals to Stalin is bound to get a reaction.

In fact, it's fair game to call your question hypocritical at this point given your clarification.

Because nobody seems to be listening. They arrested the medicinal marijana growers right after 9/11-but that wasn't me,
they tapped the phones, read emails, but I wasn't doing anything wrong...now Haliburtan is building camps. I wonder when they'll come for me...

"First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left
to speak up for me."

Mean, low class--who gives a shitt as to what you think our views are--It's the substance of the illegitamate talking point arguments that offends libs the most. Watching cons post irresponsible, biased, unsubstantiated non-sense and noting it as factual is absurd and deserves every mean and low class criticism available.

Far left liberals usually aren't mean or low class. However like all people who prefer a democratic form of government over a dictatorship, they have little to no tolerance for fascists or fascists tactics

Give us an example of "mean" and "low class." When someone posts something with which we disagree--we disagree. That's not necessarily mean or low-class. We're more likely to attack if we're attacked first--but who isn't? If we weren't so commonly called "lieberals" and "fascists" and "terrorist lovers" and "traitors" on these boards--simply for expressing dissenting opinions--we would probably be far less sensitive.

if you want to present a fair argument, why not ask why the extremes of both liberal AND conservative ideologues are such assholes.

to use a historic analogy, conservatives were the puritan burning women, not witches, at the stake, and liberals were the "witches" who were not actually witches being burned... or Hester Prynne, if you don't like the witches thing.

First of all, if somebody doesn´t agree with you, that doesn´t make them a far left liberal. And also, not everybody is mean. People just hear a stupid question and they go ape shhhhht.
