I have to stay at the Flamingo hotel for a wedding and am trying to decide if it's worth it for @ $54/night to upgrade to a Go Room. If anybody has stayed at either a regular or a Go room, I'd like to hear your opinion.

I have only stayed in the Flamingo's Deluxe rooms, but I have seen the Deluxe Go rooms on a tour of the property. I would not call it a suite but it's a very nice room with a lot of added touches. The bathroom is really nice and if you're into high tech then you'll love it.

On the Flamingo web site you can upgrade for $50.

If you're going on the weekend and want the nicer room book it now. If on the other hand you're arrival/stay will be Sunday through Thursday. You would have a great shot at an upgrade with the $20 trick. >At check in, have a $20 in your hand so that it's partially visible to the check in clerk, ask if she/he has anything a little nicer available. They are going to tell you no/I can't do that/it will cost you/ etc in which case you're out of luck unless you want to pony up the bucks, or they will say, let me take a look and see what we have, in that case you have an excellent chance. If you get the upgrade, when the clerk hands you the room keys, you say thank you very much and give him/her the $20 handshake. Don't be too obvious.

This is a common practice in Las Vegas, if they have a lot of spare rooms you have a good chance. If you're getting a really low rate for the room there is a very good chance the hotel has extra rooms. Make sure you book your room through the Flamingo and not a wholesaler. It would be a waste not to anyway >the Flamingo has a best rate guarantee, if you find a better rate for them at an online travel site they will beat that rate by 25% .

I have stayed at the Flamingo. The reg. rooms are nice. The only complaint that I have about the Flamingo is that it smells like a mix of baby powder and old lady perfume. I thought it was just something in the air the first day but I stayed for 2 weeks and everyday when I would return it still smelled. I guess there are other smells that are worse but that one just seemed to bother me. I did when one of their nightly hold-em tournaments so that made the smell a lil less annoying. I'm going back a week from Sunday but I'm not staying at the Flamingo. I go for business and I don't get to choose the hotel so I can't complain too much.

We stayed in a regular room at the Flamingo and it was pretty nice. It's nothing special but comfortable and nice, not ghetto or trashy like some of the less expensive hotels over there. I'm not sure what a Go room is though so I couldn't tell you if you should pay all that extra.

I stayed at the Flamingo about two weeks ago. I had a regular room and I was pleasantly suprised as the Flamingo is one of the older hotels. While not luxurious, it was clean and confortable. I'm not sure what a Go room is, but usually in Vegas you don't spend much time in your room anyway.

Room service will deliver any bottle you want for a hefty price - but if all you plan to do in Vegas is drink in the room then that is probably not the answer you wanted to hear. If your real question is "What's the CHEAPEST place to get a bottle of liquor to drink in my hotel room?" Then the answer is simple: Don't come to Vegas.
