I heard that class syllabus is just an agreement, not a contract. Why? What's the difference between an agreement and a contract?
Thanks!

A contract is negotiated. The syllabai I give my students are not (except for the one on one courses). I set the terms and students don't have any input. If they don't like the terms they withdraw. However, I tell my students that I do not make course changes without notifying them and updating the syllabus.

You don't sign a syllabus when you receive it.
