Were you ever a victim of a crime, but due to your sexual orientation you were afraid to report the crime to authorities?

Like getting your wallet stolen at a gay club.

OMG - yes. Back in the day, my car got broken into while parked on a side street near the baths. The side window was smashed, the locked glovebox was pried open, and the key protector on the steering wheel was broken off (I believe there was an attempt to steal the car). Several items were stolen, including the keys to my house. Naturally....I freaked. But I didn't want to call the cops because I'd have to explain why my car was parked on a street 25 miles from my home. It was a crappy way to end what was an otherwise stimulating night!

Kind of, not with a wallet though. A few weeks ago my girlfriend and I were dancing at Club Benedict and this creep took things too far. First he started by saying to Annette that she was " Too damn hot to be a dyke." Which was apalling in and of itself but then he took it to another level by grabbing her *** as he said " Come on B, I'll turn you straight." Something like that, but yeah it took like 2 seconds after that until security haulled his druck perert *** away.
Needless tosay, Annette cold have easily pressed charges or even sued for sexual slander, or sexual harrassment in a public place none the less. But she didn't because she wasn't didnt't want to explain what her closeted *** was doing at a gay/lesbian nightclub.
I thought it was ridiculous but, if she's that prideful, nothing I can do, right?

Not really, the worst thing that happened was to have my jacket stolen out of my car one night at a club. No big loss, I didn't report it because I didn't lock the car, my mistake, and I really didn't like the jacket anyway. It was a gift. Not my style. If it had been my leather jacket I'd have been really pissed. But it was this Members Only type knock off so who cares.

I think someone slipped something into my drink once. Thank goodness my friends were there to take care of me. I didn't report it. I have never left my drink unattended since.

I think it's a crime to try and convince me that I'm not a lesbian. It's so disheartening, discouraging, frustrating and down right rude. Generally straight men are the ones attempting to explain to me "what I need." There have been many of times when my straight male friends will ask me personal details believing that they will not only get tips but my juicy details. This is an abomination to my life. I didn't make this choice, I kissed my first girl in 1st grade and have loved girls ever since. It has always been very hard for me to come forward and admit the literal, multiple crimes that have been committed against me because growing up in a very small town, and being out, people look at you like "There goes that dyke, complaining about the lack of P.C. options in this town." Who cares that someone tried to start fights with me, stole something of mine, made inappropriate gestures or asked for sexual favors, because I'm a lezzie and forever branded! Bull***t. I don't by it. I think we should be able to be honest just like everyone else, am I wrong?
