As Liberal X USMC infantry I can tell you that fighting is high risk. It denotes exchange of tactics and force. with consequences.
War in not quite like Highschool sports. I prefer the Carpet bomb and sweep up the survivors method of engagement, to the recreational fighting RedsStaters Love to promote.
Go big Red Go

I think it is a great question. I can only speak for me. I was big for my age, growing up. And strong because I worked on our farm. I didn't like fighting. I don't know why. I found that I was more interested in protecting someone else, if they were in a fight. I remember feeling like a coward, one time, walking away from a fight. I've only got in two fights in my life and didn't mind them. Also, while some of my relatives like hunting, after shooting my first pheasant, I felt bad. I knew that it wasn't for me. And when we go to war, the thing I see, is the killing of civilians, in other countries, by us. And since I feel bad about killing anything,,,,,,,,,,, our troops, their civilians, I would hope we could find other solutions to our problems other than fighting.
And, yes, I have both strengths and weakness. I am good at some things and not so good at others. How about you?

You're strong mentally? And where could we find the slightest evidence of that?
And because I'm strong physically, does that mean that I should kill you when we disagree? Does it mean that I should kill you if I want your car or your house or your money?
Of course not. That would be immoral, and an indication of spiritual, intellectual and emotional immaturity on my part.
And the war in Iraq is about the Republicans immaturity and corruption.
There is a time to fight. There is a time when there's no choice but to fight. WWII was a good example. But Iraq is a long, long way from WWII. Iraq is about the corruption of the American government, and that's all it's about.

War is the method of last resort because both sides almost always lose in the context of modern warfare. Knowing what you know now, what POSSIBLE broad national interest was served by the Dictator Dumbya Big Lie Iraqi Crusade?.... Yes those in the Dumbya Coup are richer because of it on the backs of the American taxpayer.

Whenever I read crap like this I think about:
Vietnam vets, Kerry, Webb, Gore, Cleland, MOH winner Bob Kerrey.
And I compare that with:
AWOL Bush, non servers, Cheney, Rush, Wolfowitz.
So the cowards want the war and the soldiers don't. Doesn't that tell you something?

Gee, i dunno.
In 1937 thousands of American Liberals volunteered to go fight in the Spanish Civil War to prevent Hitler-backed conservatives from taking over the country.
I don't think they were afraid to fight. It's just that since WW2, the US has had no legitimate reason to go to war.
But please, shut down your computer, and go enlist. We'll applaud you right into a body bag.

It depends on whether it is the best option or not. Sometimes diplomacy is the better option. For someone like you, kicking your butt would be the best option.

They believe that Peace is the absolute absence of conflict. Peace can be compared to a strong Marriage. There will be conflict, however Peace is achieved through Growth and Maturity to deal with these conflicts, not to deny they exist

Depends what fighting your talking about.
Rationalizing, discussing, then fighting? I think most liberals support that.
Fighting to get what we want (action through force).... I think it is obvious why they would be against that.

I agree, I think that they believe that they can win a war soley with diplomacy and treaties. War takes muscles, nerve, and a steady trigger finger. NOT a good writing hand.
