AMEN, BROTHER! This is the United States of America; everyone has a chance to be succesful. Sure some people have more advantages, but in this country, you are what you decide to be or what not to be.

Okay, take a few slow deep breaths and calm down.

I'm not on Welfare, but do live on disability and literally can not get a job. Don't tell me that Welfare and Disability are the same thing, because they're not. Before I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis I did go to college and obtained my A.A. degree and did everything I could to find a job. Nobody would hire me. I'm sure you already know what it's like to look for a job and be repeatedly rejected.

One of the posts already stated that there are many people who are disabled and literally can't work. Right now I literally can't work, because of medical issues and these particular medical issues will take time to take care of and manage. You really DON'T know what it's like until you are actually living in my shoes. Many of other disabled people who CAN'T work are not trying to screw you over or take advantage of your precious tax dollars. Some of these disabled people were born with these disabilities and can't control their situation. What do you expect THEM to do?
Unfortunately there are many people who take advantage of the system, but there are a lot more percentage that DON'T.
Believe me, I would love to work, but I just can't, literally.

Hey, simmer down, there! Not everyone can work, it's a fact, get used to it. In this generation, it's imperative that you have a college education, at least, to get a decent job. And not everyone can afford a college education like that, cus they have no job. It's kinda like a circle, actually. And don't forget the poor people who are disabled in some way. Some veterans can't find work, and then they become pretty poor. I agree, it's annoying paying for their Plasma screen TV or their healthcare, but think about what would happen if you were in their case? You wouldn't want to get thrown out of the country, just cus you can't pay your bills, would you? I know I wouldn't. We just have to go along with it, it's the American way.

Its not always easy as it seems. Who wants to hire a person who has no home, not ppl like you who wont give them a chance some actually want to try to live right but some couldve been abused, abandoned, some may not have the mental capacity as to where to go. But until someone will look past the outside ppl will just continue to complain instead of help.

I see what you're saying, especially if they are here illegally, but not all poor people are like that. Alot of them are legitimately poor and can't better themselves. And besides, they can only be on welfare a short time now and have to show proof of applying for jobs and they have to pay it back, so what's the big deal really.

I agree there needs to be a limit of time for people on welfare. We hand over money and don't require them to do anything for it. We need a better system that would require someone getting welfare to at least do some community service or something to earn it.

If they really are not trying to better their lives, then yes I hate them too. You have to be honest tho. Not everyone is like that. You probably really don't know what it is like to be them. I know I don't, and I don't want to know. Some people do have it harder than others.

I don't hate them.

I'd much rather give my energy to someone who deserves it.

I don't give them a second thought.
