my computer has been running slow lately, and i did a virus scan. the only threats it found were a few cookies in the temp folder, and something called "Dialer_Ras." i dont want to delete this until i know its a major threat. i did research on it and the only thing i've found is that it just creates dialup things without the user's permission... but i wanted to know if deleting this would make my computer run a little faster, or if deleting it would slow down my computer or delete files i need....
please provide an explanation as to why i should/shouldnt delete this file. thanks!

Dialer_Ras is a virus. Get rid of it. It is dialer and it creates settings without the user's permission or intervention.
Download some spyware removal tools and get rid of it (Spy Bot search and Destroy is good and free) and get an anti-virus if you're not running one. GrisSoft has a good one for free. Don't depend on the anti-virus software that was free when you bought your pc. they only upgrade for 60-90 days. If thats what you're using, delete it and install AVG Free. Most Virus and Spyware scans will work better in Windows Safe-Mode.
Also, check your free space on your hard drive. if your drive is 2/3 or more used, you are slowing yourself down big time. Burn some of those pics/movies/installation files to CD or DVD. Wouldn't be a bad idea to defrag in safe mode afterwards.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

pretty much anything with dialer in it is a form of spyware I would hope that you have a spyware removial program on ur PC.
If not download then use this software-

this will clean all the spyware and crap of ur PC and make it run smoother and faster, I have great results I use it everyday when im done with my work and I never have problems..

It's spyware, remove it with an antispyware program, I use two AdAware, and SpybotS&D.
