Yes I do. I also look at how I was raised by my father and apply all the positive things I learned from him to the way I am with my kids.

Yeah, I keep a journal that I write in from time to time. By reflecting on your past you can get a better idea of where you are today. For example, did you accomplish a certain goal since last year? Did you learn not to make a particular mistake again?
