The experiment part made me cry both times I watched it. Sad, isn't it!

1. The point is not to feel sad and cry - that's just weakness. Instead, you should be determined to encourage people to feel better about themselves, especially young children. Goodness is an attitude, not a skin complexion - that's the message to convey.

2. It's a message that has to be disseminated at a community level - family, friends, neighbours, workmates. Corporate media prefer lighter-skinned black people (Beyoncé Knowles, Halle Berry), and images of them are everywhere. This carries a powerful underlying message, and one which has to be combatted locally. Think about it and do your part. Change begins with yourself.
