visiting the family?

Hi im due to visit my thai girlfriends family for the first time soon, i will be the first man she has taken home.
She has told me that there is practically no foreigners in her village.
Im just wondering if there is anybody out there who has a thai girl or used too, and has visited a thai family before.
I want to know what should i expect, should i give them gifts?
I know it is alot different from england.
So if there is anyone out there who has experienced this and could lighten me on what to expect then i would be gratefull.
Please only people who have done this or no what there talking about.........
