Pad is swollen and warm. Can't see any scratch, puncture, etc. Limps when walking & holds it up when sitting. Two vets didn't seem to think it was anything but it has gotten worse.

It could be that something has gone into the pad at the side...so you wouldn't see a mark easily. Warmth indicates infection, I would want antibiotic cover if it was one of mine. Go to another vet.

could possibly be a stone bruise,they are extremely sore and will take time to heal,usually you step on something that you didnt pay any attention to whether it hurt or not and will have one,they dont have any discoloration or much of any physical signs maybe a small swelling is all (could be)
