If your town had a community pool, try there. The YMCA is kind of expensive. The community pool near me has swimming lessons for adults.

The first step to swimming is becoming bouyant meaning can you float on your back and stomache. Once you can do that start by adding a kick while your floating (kick boards work pretty well for that. You'll need to be able to completely submerge your face in the water (or your body doesn't float, is just sinks). If this is uncomfortable invest in a pair of goggles. Once you've gotten those things down, the rest is just learning technique. I'm sure you could check out a book from the library or possibly find that info online. Good luck!

Have someone surprise you by pushing you into a swimming pool when you're not looking :)

Actually the best way I think is to start by using a swimming board and kicking with your feet.. and learning to stay afloat.. Then you can try to get a little bit more adventurous by holding the board with one hand.. or letting go of it for a little bit.

After you're able to float a bit you can look at diagrams of the main types of swims and choose one that's easiest for you.. and practice preferably with a friend until you're comfortable.

If you just want to learn how to swim, jump in the water and do it. That's how I learned...no lessons involved. My husband had swimming as part of gym class in middle and high school. So that's how he learned...also really cheap. But if you're looking for inexpensive, try calling your local YMCA or YWCA. They often have inexpensive swim lessons. Sometimes community colleges offer them as well.

Very easy. Just start out in the swallow end and imitate a starfish. Just lay there and float. When comfortable simply kick you legs and push with your arms. Nothing could be easier. With practice you will be good in no time falt.

I saw many people answer your question .

Many answers were - " Just jump in"

Please dont take this risk to do it. It is very dangerous. It can cause you a harm or death. Dont try it in a swimming pool or ocean.

Let me tell you something " NOTHING IN THIS WORLD COMES FOR FREE" "YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING"

Please take lessons at Recreation parks or any other places.
