The stories are real. The places are real. However its obvious that the actors jazz it up by freaking themselves out and over-reacting a bit. Otherwise, it would be too boring to air, wouldn't it?

There have been people that have worked on the show that have come forward and said it was a hoax, but wouldn't go into detail. This is because they sign confidentiality clauses and would be sued for thousands of dollars if they spilled the beans.

I saw the halloween special where they all wound up with 'scratches' on their limbs. Frankly, I wasn't surprised what with walking around a dark, rocky ruin. Lucky they didn't break an ankle, but it would hardly have been supernatural if they did.

Derek is clearly a charlatan......not the Ian Brown kind either.
Putting on a voice like an old bingo lady is nothing like a spirit posession/takeover. And NOBODY with an ounce of common sense would allow a spirit to take them over without proper spiritual protection.

Derek plays up for the camera, he's repetative and on the unusual occaision when he does encounter an aggressive spirit, he craps panty. Ever see the one in the crypt/cells where Derek goes in to a room where a dark spirit is and then legs it straight out saying he's just hit me?

The key for a true seer is that they are emotionally tuned: when they encounter a spirit their eyes will fill with tears. Not because they are crying, it's just a bit like an allergic reaction.

Derek never had that. In all honesty, Yvette is more sensitive than him.

I thought about this alot and would offer to go in to these locations all night by myself but i'd want to keep my identity secret. If there is anyone from a TV company out there wanting to do a show called "alone in the dark" with an anonymous mystic going in to the most haunted locations, they are welcome to contact me.

I get tonnes of ghost activity around me but I must be alone and it must be quiet around me for it to happen.

So far the best programme of this kind I've seen is Haunted Homes which is kind of a rip off of MH. The spiritualist is very good and she performs a clearing rather than leave them to suffer.

Most Haunted is an "entertainment show" towards the end of Derecks run on there it became very theatrical and still is I gave up watching.

I have been to two of Dereks live shows and recommend you try them. He is very good and there is no way he could have known in advance the info he gave to the members of the audience he gave messages to.

There are those who will always try to prove people as fakes whatever they are doing with life. He certainly doesnt "milk it" I dont feel we were over charged for our tickets in fact Colin Fry charges more and he is definately someone who doesnt come across as genuine !!

We all have different views on these things I just say keep an open mind and enjoy the shows.

It's almost to predictable, I think someone off camera is throwing stuff just to make a sound, so the cast can turn around and say " What was that."

I'm glad hes been found out. I don't think they would dare to fake anything like noises, stone throwing etc as its the way they make a living. if they got found out it would be the end of their carer in television too.
