In what jurisdiction? In California, all trial courts are superior courts, so there is no minumum amount. In other states the trial courts are divided into levels, and lower level amounts go to lower courts (such as municipal courts), and so there is a minimum amount required for superior court, but that is going to vary by state.

Generally, $25,000.00 was the minimum, before a lot of courts merged Municipal Court with Superior Court (CA). However, there is no longer a minimum amount.
