Leeds doesn't deserve a beach. It should be punished for its one-way systems.

Yeah But the Carpool Lanes in Leeds are a Great Idea!!

Sheffield has a Beach in Hillsborough!
It's actually called "The Beach",But No Sand! Just Tile and Chlorinated water(Not forgetting the occasional Floating Turd!!)
Have a Great weekend!!

Leeds should definitely be punished for the one way mayhem, a beach would be good, we could take one of the reservoirs and add the sand, just waiting for the weather to warm up.
Read somewhere that if global warming forecasts were to be believed then we could have Armthorpe by the Sea..... Not sure thats such a good thing though!

We've had one for the last 2 years. Last year it was on 19 & 20 August. They put tons of sand in The Peace Gardens and had deck chairs, buckets and spades and even donkey rides. Fargate was the pier and Tudor Square was the Prom. We even had a landtrain from the beach (Peace Gardens) to the Prom (Tudor Square). The event was called Sheffield - On - Sea and will proberbly be held again this year.

Try coming here around August bank holiday. They import tonnes of sand, deckchairs, donkeys, and fairground rides as well as setting up stalls and selling candyfloss. There's even a brass band! If the weather's kind, it's ace (bit grim if it's not...)
Otherwise, I hear Cleethorpes has improved....

Global warming might just make it Sheffield-on-Sea some day :-)

Yes, then I wouldn't have to spend a fortune on getting away from here twice a year

Pop down to Travis Perkins, they have an extra large sand bay with bad drainage, your dreams are not far away.
