I would say that any discourse about this life is exactly a discourse about death.

Yes, the reason most people have any philosophies about life is because they want to live the right way.... before they die. You have from now until then to live as thus. You can't choose a path without assuming the consequences - death.
Also many believe that is the way we will be judged in the hereafter. Karma catches up in the afterlife. Most religions look forward to death - rewards in heaven, etc. What we do in life echoes in eternity. I like the sound of that. Death is the medium through which the things we did in life get galvanized.

both are one in the same,
rebirth & death represent
recurrence & change, there is life in decay
and decay in life,
this,
the Janus idea in nature
is the same discourse in understanding
how to preceive the pattern of natures ways ~

I agree to a point as death can be a terminal point in this voyage we call life. What is unknown to us but assumed by many is that death is not a terminus but the jumping off point for the next great adventure and thus is not a part of this life but the next.

Not quite. Sometimes, when we talk about life, it is without reference to death and without death in mind. However, death is a crucial aspect of life, and its relevance dominates over most life considerations.

Most conversations about life are prettyin-depth, so I'm sure the ending of life, and what comes before and after death.
Come to think of it, talking about what comes before and after life is the same as talking about before and after death.
