that "my autobiography" can make me just more opaque... I mean the language as a convention modifies everything I say about myself...?

Language is a mere code of transduction of the iconical representation of ideas.

Your own ideas about you, and your experiences are simply the interpretation thereof. You may convey abstracts for people to interpret, otherwise they'll guage you by your visual presence(concrete) or by your actions (intiutive assessment).

In the end, you produce one more channel of intrigue for others to observe, one more dimension of reference to explore.

hmmmmm,
you say, " make more opaque " making yourself
less transparent..........
and that language, " modifies everything "
According to Norm Chomsky, language is an instinct,
so therefore language creates a perception, like language
generates culture, language is something we were like
a coat, we can take it off and change it, language makes
clear what we impose on the reader, if there exist any
opaqueness it would be intentional on the writers hand and
thought processes, so if you are saying language modifies
everything are you truly exposing your opaqueness, or
hiding what your life truly means ~

You can't be more opaque than completely unknown. You're doing far too much navel-gazing already. Just write the damn book and let us decide who's opaque.

Send me a copy - I'll read it. Rocken_heimer@yahoo.com

Don't you think that the language you choose to use reveals something about you, intentionally or not? Sure, language has limitations, but everything - the way you dress, walk, laugh - modifies the essential YOU to an outside observer. Right?

I think autobiographies let the writer see just how colourful their life has been so far, it could make you far less opaque than you expect!
