Just seen bush will send more troops to Iraq even though the bill was rejected. Is this democracy or dictatorship:( surly if we are trying 2 export a just/fair way of ruling it should be done correctly.

There was no bill. What just passed was something akin to a formal statment saying, "We don't think it's a good idea, and we don't support it."
It has absolutely no bearing on what Bush does as the Commander-in-Chief.

It's a Republic if you are unawaree of what the country Form of Government is you might want to leave.
He is CAC and can do this plus those same people voted for the war. I find it funny that a party that does even have 50 senate seats acts like they are running the country and have a mandate.
Good luck get medicine soon.

the surge was approved in a bill months ago. the ONLY reason for the non-binding resolution is so that when elections come along those individuals can say i was against. they are just positioning themselves for 2008. i wish character and morals would find their way back into politics. BOTH SIDES.

I think bush is just in a complete panic - bit like when the israelis bombed lebanon, things don't work out as planned so they go a little bit nuts and become bulls in china shops.

If ol' Georgie boy had his way he would be emperor for life. Fortunately we have Congressional oversight that may start reeling him in soon. Unfortunately the Iraq thing is already run amok and will be hard to stop as long as that stubborn fool is in office. Counting down until Jan. 20, 2009

This is politically driven from both sides. This is not about Bush or thr troops, its about getting votes in November.
