I've made an appointment to have a nose job on the 5th of March. I would like to hear from anyone who has been through it or any Drs. How long did it hurt for, was it worth it, the risks.

Thank you.

hiya, I broke my nose when I was nine, and had it re broken and set at thirteen as I couldn't breath through my nose. I am not sure if yours is for something similar or for beauty reasons, as they might not actually break the bones if you are having it reshaped, they sometimes just shave of cartilage etc.
If they do break bones, it gives you two puffy black eyes, and swells up quite a bit, but it doesn't hurt too much, unless you roll over onto your face when asleep then ouch!
I was in for a day or so, and then went home, looked as good as new after two weeks, but if they don't break anything it will propbably be quicker. Also, you do get alot of blood boogers, grose but unavoidable!
Good luck!

Had one when I was 16 never regretted it. It hurt for about a good week and then was just a bit uncomfortable for about 6 weeks, my eyes were black and blue and swollen-looked like someone punched me. There are risks with any surgery-the anesthetic, bleeding... your doctor will explain all of it to you-if he/she doesn't get out of that office in a hurry. If possible let the doctor show you how you will look via the old computer imaging. The swelling goes away completely in about 6 months-you won't have a potato nose for too long.

I had it done about 10 years ago. I am so glad I did it, I was about 28 at the time, I wish I had done it sooner. It hurt the worst right after I woke up from the surgery but I took a Vicodin and fell back to sleep. It didn't hurt much after that. I was bruised up for at least a full week, maybe 2.

Make sure your doctor is a board certified plastic surgeon. Some doctors are certified doctors but not certified plastic surgeons and that's really important.

Very strategies-blowing. and that i think of the human beings asserting the top could be narrower could grasp rhinoplasty can't gain perfection and in case you attempt to bypass overboard you could finally end up looking like Michael Jackson....enable that be a lesson to us all.

I had a deviated septum fixed in 1997, while I was under they straightened my nose too. The doctors said that cartilage continues to grow all of my life and therefore the deviation might come back. Well, it did, but my nose is still straighter than it was most of my life.

why not just say nose job in the first place because you had to put it anyway for the people who didn't know what rhinoplasty was.
