You probably aren't old enough, but don't fret it's not all that good. I couldn't get past the first chapter.

Personally, I loved Wicked, but I read it when I was sixteen. I was mature for twelve too, but I know there are parts of Wicked that I wouldn't have understood when I was twelve. Wicked's got some pretty adult parts in it, and as mentioned, it has politics too. If you feel that you're old enough, and that you'll understand it, then yes, read it. But if you wait a few years, maybe intil you're fifteen, you'd probably understand it a lot better. The same goes for the sequel, Son of a Witch. Although Wicked is based on Wizard of Oz, it is in no way for the younger generation, as it is completely different from Wizard of Oz and Wicked the musical. But as I said, if you're knowledgeable in sex and politics, then go ahead and read Wicked, because it's a wonderful book!

Absolutely. If you're mature enough to ask, then you're mature enough to read it.

However, understand that there may be parts that are weird or over your head right now. I suggest you think about hanging on to the book and going back to reread it in a few years. It's amazing how a book changes as your perspective does when you're growing and maturing. You will be reading a new book at the very same time as visiting an old one.

I am sure that at the age of 12, you are mature. That means that I think that you are mature in your judgement. This means that I think that you are capable of deciding whether to read a book that others have found disturbing to young people. I think that you should go for it! But who am I to dictate to you?

Oooooo...Good question. There are some pretty explicit parts in there and some political references that might be lost on you. I personally think you'd enjoy reading it more when you're a bit older but in the end you should discuss it with your parents. The play would probably we better for you and you'd probably enjoy it a lot more.

Isn't that about the wicked witch of the East, from OZ? If so, I don't see the harm at all...good for you for reading!

In my opinion, it's okay to read any book no matter what age you are.

Read away.
