The same reason other people are fans of other teams. They follow them with great interest and root for them. The true fan takes the time to research their teams so that they can become familiar with the players and history of the franchise. There is a connections. We that are true fans have all experienced that feeling. I'm a die hard Yankees fan. Have been all my life and support them all the time. We feel good when they win and bad when they lose. I like the Jets myself and would like to see them do well. Don't let some of these answers throw you. Just make yourself happy and if rooting for the Jets is what you like, good for you!!
