It's the Lunar New Year.. so there's lots of exciting stuff happening around Chinatown this weekend.. (all FREE)

shops are open late, festivities and decorations are abounding.. there's also an indoor celebration at the nearby International Village.

take a skytrain to Stadium Station check out the International Village Mall then The Chinese Cultural Centre and SunYat Sen Gardens then stroll up Keefer and grab a big cheap meal at The Gain Wah or Hons Wonton..

Vancouver is the land of things to do on a free date...take a walk down The Drive, Richmond should have some fun festivities this weekend for Chinese New Year, go get ice cream and take a walk, if it's still light go do the pitch and putt at Central Park in Burnaby, grab some cheap sushi at any one of the million sushi take outs (my fav is King Sushi on Commercial)..go for a walk in Steveson...there are a million things to do

spend 20 bucks and have your date over to your place for dinner and a movie, get a cheap bottle of wine and chill. if you want to spend a little more the planetarium is cool cause you can talk and take in the scenes above your head. or a nice drive through stanley park and then a brisk walk by the sea wall

You don't need much money to eat well at a Chinese cafe. Or get really good take out and eat at her place or your place. Suggestion: the peking duck from a Chinese deli on Victoria about 3 or 4 doors up from 41st is the best I have ever had.
