This is not in any way about prejudice, I would just like to know if I am dealing with a cultural difference, or a very disrespectful man.
Today I am working with a man from India. It seems that any bit of information I give him, he needs to immediately confirm it with a man, even though I am a specialist in my field. It is making me angry. Do Indian men typically not trust women, or think they are dumb, or am I just dealing with a low life here?

I am married to an Indian man ... so I know a little about there culture ... When we first met, I found him extremely arrogant and disrespectful. As you can imagine I wasnt having ANY OF IT! so he learnt matter of factly what is appropriate and what isnt but he did go through stages of seeming indifferrence and distrustfulness. After many discussions I came to understand that culturally men are very dominating in the Indian society.
I spent a large amount of time in India and I have to say that men there (which out number women 10 to 1) are what we would call 'Rude' constantly staring, spitting, peeing anywhere they please etc... but in there own country these things are acceptable as men make up the majority of society. Thank goodness for the women in this world then, because good heavens I have seen a country dominated by MEN and it aint pretty!! ...LOL

my experience is they have little respect for us.
