I recently moved and found the windows have been poorly fitted. Is it possible to get these re-fitted to make sure heat loss is minimised. The window frames are ok it is just the windows themselves that open out that need re-fitting.

it is possible to re fit but ushally on ly if the window dont open or shut properly if the window have been made properly ther might be to much of a gap around the rebates and there for letting the draft through i would try fitting a draft excluding sealer around the windows there are some good ones avalble from local building outlets that just stick on good cheep first option if that fails you will need to consult a window fitter or joiner i have delt with a few problems like this but you cant tell what the problem is with out seeing the job for my self

its no problem.remove the old silicon or mastic, insert expanding foam around window, let it cure.cut off excess.reseal with silicon.you can buy new window hinges, and refit new ones.
