I'm 5'8", 26 years old, and I weigh about 173 lbs. in just shorts. I lift weights and run regularly. I run 2-4 miles at a time, and I bench 155lbs and curl 55 on a good day.

I have ok arms and an ok chest, great legs, and little love handles. I'm guessing my BMI is about 22-25% Am I fit, or should I be fitter?

(I always weigh more in the winter. I'll lose 5 lbs once the weather warms up.)

Your ideal weight for your height is 155 pounds plus or minus 10%. But you are very fit. Anyone that can run 2-4 miles at 26 should not worry about trying to reach a certain number. You are doing very well.

BTW, Your BMI is 26

I am so sorry to inform you that you are over weight by all means. You should not Deny the facts and face them if you want to keep your self fit and healthy. First yours ideal weight should be not more than 140 lbs and your B.M.I. should be less than 18. According to you this is your weight in just shorts. Well another view is that you are saying that you have a little heavy love handles.?????... You have good stamina... as you can run 2-4 miles...but your weight is definitely beyond the ideal and you should start thinking of loosing about 10-20 lbs this summer.. your exact B.M.I. is 26.27 now as per your parameters. The maximum no of calories you should eat should not be more than 1400 K.Cal per day. ... so have good day and keep your runnings at least 4-5 days a weak and you will benefit in the long run.
Hope this will resolve your question.

http://www.ourcivilisation.com/fat/appa.htm You are overweight. A BMI of 22 is a big difference from 25% http://www.bariatricedge.com/dtcf/pages/bmi_calculator.htm?WT.srch=1 Your BMI is 26.3 which indicates you are slightly overweight. A man's waist should be 34 inches or less measuring at the level of the belly button. A fat gut diverts blood from the vital organs and is a great predictor of future disease like heart attack, stroke, or diabetes.Love handles are made from fat. A sensible diet change will take care of your excess weight. Eat lean meats, fruits and veggies. Limit carbs. I bet you can succeed in 2 months. Have a great year.

You sound awesome. A real hunk o'burnin love.
Lighten up sweetie. Why are you so concerned? If you feel good...you look good. Anyone can be 'fitter'. Just depends on where you want to put your energy in life. See a trainer one time if it concerns you this much. He'll get you on a program to improve if that is what you wish. Sounds like you are on target though.

Take care and be proud.

Personally, I think you are fine. If you are happy with your weight and how you look, then that is that.

Your BMI is not high, it's in a healthy range, and you sound like you a relatively fit person. It all depends on personal perception.
